Toasty

The weather this last week has been beyond perfect. I love snuggling under my comforter at night when I'm going to bed, studying with my windows open and my snuggie on, drinking tea before bed and opting for warm coffee (as opposed to iced) in the mornings--its been bliss. Sadly, it still tends to be hot in the afternoon, but I have a selective memory and I'm choosing to disregard the sandal tan the sun burned into my feet a few days ago.

Cooler weather naturally means that I haven't stopped looking at clothes because not only is Fall my favorite season (closely tied with winter) but Fall fashion is my favorite favorite favorite. Here are some of the things I'm looking forward to wearing this fall: I'm loving the camel and beige, sweaters, the play on textures, lots of flowy skirts and dresses, and of course, BOOTS!

Things that I like

My dashboard is constantly overflowing with things that I have dragged on it throughout the week--favorite pictures, blog posts, and random things that generally entertain and amuse me. Here are some of my favorites from the last few weeks:

Givenchy dress from the Spring 2012 Collection. Givenchy is usually a home-run in my opinion (hello everything Florence Welch has ever worn from the brand) and this collection is no different. I love the sheer cutouts, layers, and flowy bits that make it so romantic.

Speaking of Florence Welch in amazing dresses.....I mean, seriously. Stop. It makes my soul happy. And if you need new tunes, go listen to this. Can you tell I have a [MAJOR] girl crush?

Rabid food gawking has left me with an intense recipe to-do list, and this is definitely on top: Orange Blossom Cheesecake with Blueberry Pomegranate Compote. Hopefully my mom and I will dive into this next weekend when I go home. I feel like her culinary expertise could be useful for this project.

I need this nail polish immediately. Its gorgeous and its called 'Suzy Loves Cowboys' and I need it. I also need my fingernails to look like those and not the gnawed on stubs I'm currently sporting.

Finally, for some inexplicable reason, every Fall I long for Paris. The only time I ever went was in the summer (sadly) but theres something about crunchy leaves and muted colors that makes me long for sidewalk cafes and walks along the canal.

'I can be care free'

The outfits from Free People's current look book are beyond perfect--they encapsulate the carefree girl who is chic and looks amazing, but doesn't look like she is trying at all. Isn't that what we all try to achieve?

Also, this model's bangs are off the chainnn. I need to figure out how to make mine do that on a daily basis.

Fall is starting to creep in (albeit veeeery slowly) and I couldn't be happier. Summer makes me feel like a complete monster and the humidity in the south makes everything sticky for three months straight. Although we have been creating fall in our apartment (pumpkin pie candles, soup, and the AC up high), I am so excited to finally wear my favorite fall clothes.

Boots are my single favorite piece of clothing and I have to get my hands on these from Banana Republic. The rest is pretty much my winter uniform-dark pants, big chunky sweaters, scarves--minimal color, of course.
